Welcome!
I’m Susan, a licensed clinical social worker based in Alexandria, Virginia. I offer in-person counseling at my cozy, sunlit office in Alexandria, as well as virtual sessions for residents of Virginia and Utah. I’m passionate about helping young adults and adults feel more grounded, confident, and in control as they navigate anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and the emotional weight of everyday life.
With over 30 years of clinical experience, I draw from evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Mindfulness, Strength-Based Therapy, and other integrative approaches tailored to your needs.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or ready to heal from past experiences, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore what’s going on and move toward meaningful change. I’m here to support you in your journey of healing, growth, and greater well-being.
